Bantamweight:

Jack Shore

Age: 25 | Wales | 13-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC

Jack Shore is the pride of Wales and could be their best chance at capturing UFC gold. At just 25-years-old, the sky is the limit for the Shore MMA product. UFC President White has gone as labeling him “the hottest prospect in the U.K.”. Shore competed locally in Wales as a kickboxer and boxer in his youth before fully transitioning into the mixed martial arts world. Shore began him amateur career in 2012 when he was just 17. For the next three years, Shore picked up a 12-0 record as an amateur which included four fights on a weekend to earn the 2015 European Open Championship. He began his pro career a few months later and proceeded to finish his first seven opponents. He was then pitted against former UFC bantamweight Vaughan Lee in a bout where he was a heavy favorite over the UFC vet. For the first and only time in his pro career, Shore went to the judge’s scorecards where he won unanimously. Three fights, two title fights and one Cage Warrior Championship later, Shore was signed to the UFC in 2019. He is now two fights into his UFC career finishing both Nohelin Hernandez and Aaron Phillips via rear naked choke.

Notable Victories: Aaron Phillips, Nohelin Hernandez, Vaughan Lee

Umar Nurmagomedov

Age: 24 | Russia | 13-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC

The second Nurmagomedov on the list, Umar is the younger cousin of UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. He made his debut a few weeks ago against Sergey Morozov in dominant fashion and won via second round submission. Like Khabib, he spent the majority of his early career on the regional scene in Russia competing in GFC and Fight Nights Global looking dominant in every performance. Once he signed to compete in the UFC, the now 24-year-old was forced out of two bouts due to illness. However, his debut was worth the wait as he managed to finish his opponent via rear naked choke which is the same submission Khabib pulled off in his debut. If things play out for Umar as they did for his cousin, don’t be surprised if that -0 remains next to his name for a long time.

Notable Victories: Sergey Morozov
