BREAKING: Askar Askar steps in for Ewell, faces Cody Stamann on Feb. 6

Sources confirmed to FighterPath that Askar Askar will step in for Andre Ewell to face Cody Stamann. The source wishes to stay anonymous, as the UFC has yet to make an official announceent at this time.

Cody Stamann was originally scheduled to face Andre Ewell on the card who was forced out due to a positive COVID test. Ewell had originally stepped in for Merab Dvalishvili who requested more time. Due to the short notice, both parties agreed to take this fight at featherweight.

Askar Askar (11-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) enters this fight on the back of a huge victory over Kevin Wirth back in October. He has finished seven of his eleven pro wins with his sole loss being by knockout in February. The Palestine born fighter has competed for organizations such as HFC and LFA, and it was only a matter of time before he was snagged by a big organization.

Cody Stamann (19-3-1 MMA, 5-2-1 UFC) will enter the Octagon for the third time since the UFC opened back up. He picked up a unanimous decision victory back in June over Brian Kelleher before dropping a decision to Jimmie Rivera a month later. The #13 ranked Stamann is hoping a big victory will catapult him closer to the Top 10.

UFC Fight Night 184 takes place this Saturday, February 6 and is headlined by Alistair Overeem who takes on Alexander Volkov.
