BREAKING: Pat Sabatini replaces injured Trizano, faces Rafael Alves on February 20

A source confirmed to FighterPath that CFFC Featherweight Champion Pat Sabatini will step in on short notice for Michael Trizano to face Rafael Alves on February 20. The source has asked to remain anonymous as there has yet to be an official announcement from the promotion.

Rafael Alves (19-9 MMA, 0-0 UFC) was one of the standout performers on the last season of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series. He submitted highly touted Alejandro Flores to earn a UFC contract back in August. He was set to face Trizano on February 20, but Trizano was forced out due to an ankle injury.

Pat Sabatini (13-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC) has been on the UFC’s radar for quite some time picking up big wins in CFFC and CES MMA. After suffering an arm injury early into his February fight last year, Sabatini rebounded with two straight finishes. The second of which helped him capture the vacant CFFC Featherweight title against Jesse Stim. This would be his third stint as Featherweight Champion for the promotion.

UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs Lewis will take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on February 20. The event will be headlined by UFC Heavyweights Derrick Lewis and Curtis Blaydes.
