BREAKING: Bout between Ty Gwerder and Mike Jasper in the works for Bellator 261

Sources confirmed to Fighterpath MMA that a middleweight bout between Ty Gwerder and Mike Jasper is in the works for Bellator 261 on June 25. Both gentlemen will be looking to get back into the win column after losses in their previous bouts. The source wished to remain anonymous as an official announcement of the bout has yet to be made by the promotion.

Ty Gwerder (5-2 MMA, 1-2 Bellator) will be returning to the cagefor the first time in 2021. The Hawaiian saw mixed results in 2020 going 1-1 on the year. In September he knocked out George Tokkos before losing a competitive bout with Dalton Rosta via decision.

Mike Jasper (13-6 MMA, 0-2 Bellator) will be making the walk for the first time since September of 2019. He was linked to a bout with Fabio Aguiar in late 2020 but was removed from the card. Prior to signing with the promotion, Jasper was riding a three-fight win streak which included two stoppages.

The event will take place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The expected lineup for the card is below:

  • Interim Heavyweight: (c) Timothy Johnson vs Valentin Moldavsky
  • Women’s Strawweight: Kyra Batara vs Lena Ovchynnikova
  • Lightweight: Myles Jury vs Sidney Outlaw
  • Lightweight: Isaiah Hokit vs Aaron Hughes
  • Middleweight: Ty Gwerder vs Mike Jasper
