Digging Deep: Matchmaking – UFC Lightweight Donald Cerrone

Donald Cerrone recently returned to action to face Alex Morono at UFC on ESPN: Rodriguez vs. Waterson. He was initially scheduled to face Diego Sanchez, however he was forced out of the bout after the UFC terminated his contract. Cerrone agreed to take the fight despite the change of opponent.

With the loss, ‘Cowboy’ is now winless in his last six appearances dating back to May of 2019. After the loss, UFC president said he would grant Cerrone one last opportunity at his more natural weight class (155lbs). Cerrone has made a career of facing anyone, anywhere, anytime and we expect a more calculated approach in his next fight.

FighterPath’s Joe Gravel, Mikey Ramos and Sergio Pineiro discuss the options available for the future hall of famer.
