BREAKING: Abril Anguiano set to face Marisol Ruelas on March 12 for LFA

A source confirmed to FighterPath that a bout between Abril Anguiano and Marisol Ruelas is in the works for an LFA event on March 12. The source has asked to remain anonymous as there has yet to be an official announcement from the promotion.

The two women will collide in a Flyweight bout with the winner looking to pick up their first win in more than a year.

Abril Anguiano (3-0 MMA, 0-0 LFA) has been out of action since November of 2019 due to the pandemic, but has been training heavily throughout that time out of War Room MMA and Kickboxing. In her last fight she moved up a weight class winning a split decision against Paola Ramirez. She has finished 2 of 3 opponents in the first round.

Marisol Ruelas (1-2 MMA, 0-0 LFA) was originally scheduled to face Valerie Wong for Ikon FC a week earlier, but for undisclosed reasons the bout was scratched. Like Anguiano, Ruelas hasn’t competed since 2019 despite many efforts to compete. She has been training out of Team Top Notch in Illinois.

The promotion has yet to make a formal announcement of the event name or location but is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
