BREAKING: UFC Bantamweight Anthony Birchak released from UFC

Anthony Birchak (16-8 MMA, 2-4 UFC) was released after suffering back-to-back defeats in his second stint in the company. Birchak made his return to the promotion in a short notice return against long-time friend Gustavo Lopez in a losing effort.

Birchak was then booked to face fellow veteran Johnny Eduardo at UFC on ESPN 21. After visa issues prevented Eduardo from making the walk, Birchak was rebooked against Tony Gravely. The back and forth affair resulted in a second round TKO defeat for Birchak.

Birchak has amassed 16 victories across his 24-fight career which includes wins over Joe Soto, Dileno Lopez and Roman Salazar.
